Our organically crafted Bacaba Oil is cold pressed from the pulpy flesh of the round purple Oenocarpus bacaba berries native to the Amazon Rainforest. Abundant in unsaturated fatty acids, Bacaba Oil has a beautiful greenish color and a light texture that absorbs readily without leaving a heavy residue.

The Oenocarpus bacaba species produces big bunches with fruits that highly resemble Acai. The Bacaba fruits has a dark, reddish-purple shell and creamy flesh rich in natural phenols, especially flavonoids. The pulp is also used to make the well known bacaba wine, popularly consumed in the area.

The high content of unstaurated fatty acids makes Bacaba Oil well-suited as a primary ingredient in skincare products. Bacaba Oil can help rejuvenating the skin by forming a protective film that locks the moisture in, preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL), and restoring the skin's natural oil levels. Its anti-inflammatory properties also help soothe irritation and calm the redness and discomfort caused by skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. Rich in antioxidants, Bacaba Oil also protects the skin by neutralising oxidative stress (a major factor of premature skin ageing), reducing inflammation, and protecting the skin from sun damage.

In haircare, Bacaba Oil can help balancing the scalp's moisture, preventing hair loss and promoting deep and lasting hydration. Besides having a nourishing and hydrating effect, Bacaba Oil also softens the hair, boosts its shine and stimulates growth.
