In many areas where it thrives, the flowers are used for ornamental purposes and for worship in temples. Because the flowers have long been culturally significant in the devotional rituals of India, our supplier sources flowers that are carefully plucked from, and with no damage to established trees in an area where new trees are continually being cultivated. Thus, this absolute represents a step in the right direction for sustainably-sourced fragrance materials.
Champaca blossoms were and still are commonly used to make an attar
- regarded as a holy fragrance - by distilling the oil from the flowers directly into a receiver containing Sandalwood Essential Oil. One of the world's most expensive perfumes oriental to French lines, such as famous Joy, Jadore (Dior), Euphoria CK, etc. contains Champaca Absolute among other exotic and highly prized floral notes. It is very potent and only a small amount is needed and would be great as a fixative for perfumes.
Its highly intriguing and delightful scent makes it an excellent natural fragrance to add to decadent soaps, lotions, bath bombs, natural perfumes, and make-up. Owing to its antioxidant properties, Champaca Absolute boost collagen production and protect the skin from environmental damage and rapid aging. The absolute also has anti-inflammatory properties, as well as refreshing, moisturizing, and regeneration effects on the skin.
In aromatherapy, the fragrance of Champaca Absolute is well known for its soothing and calming capabilities. In his books, Jennifer Peace Rhind suggests that the Champaca Absolute has a relaxing, euphoric effect on the body, perhaps similar to that of Jasmine or Neroli. Its seductive and beautiful fragrance produces a celestial atmosphere that soothes, relaxes and strengthens the mind after a stressful day.
Nature In Bottle certify that Champaca Absolute Oil is suitable for cosmetic application and is not included in the list of substances prohibited in cosmetic products. Neither does it contain parabens, restricted preservatives, colorants or UV filters (Annex II - VI of EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009).

The proposition protects the state's drinking water sources from being contaminated with chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and requires businesses to inform Californians about exposures to such chemicals.
Proposition 65 requires the state to maintain and update a list of chemicals known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity.

Furthermore, Champaca Absolute Oil is also compliant with the European Union Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 Classification, Labeling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP Regulation) under entries 28 to 30 of Annex XVII of REACH, which prohibits the use of carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic category 1A or 1B substances (CMR category 1A or 1B substances) in products supplied to the general public.
Based on the ISO 16128-1:2016 (Definitions for ingredients) and ISO 16128-2:2017 (Criteria for ingredients and products), Nature In Bottle can advise that Champaca Absolute Oil would have a Natural Origin Index of 1 and therefore, could be considered to come under the definition of a 'Natural Ingredient'.
