In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic situation, our supply chain has hugely been affected and we had to reduce our stocks of some of our products (particularly hydrosols and body butters). We will be back in stock with most of our products once things start getting back to normal. Apart from this, almost all of the essential oils, carrier oils and absolutes are in stock with us. We request your patience and understanding during these difficult times.

Our organically crafted Mamey Sapote Oil is extracted by cold pressing the kernels of the fruit of Pouteria sapota tropical evergreen trees native from Mexico, Guatemala and Central America. Described as having a sweet, fruity aroma and a mild, pleasant taste, Mamey Sapote Oil is high in vitamins A, B, C and E along with a high content of monounsaturated oleic acid and high natural antioxidant levels.

Mamey Sapote fruit is oval shaped, similar to a football, and is 3-8 inches in length. Its skin is thick, woody, and brown in color, and its flesh has an orange-reddish tint. Other common names for Sapote fruit are Mammee, Mamee Sapote, Lavazapote, Mamey Colorado, Mamee Zapote, Mamey Rojo, Marmalade Plum, Red Sapote, Zapote Mamey, Chiku and Sapodilla.

REPORTED BENEFITS AND USES

Sapote Oil is a light, non-greasy, vitamin-rich oil that helps balance sebum production - which can help those with excessively oily, or excessively dry scalps. Sapote Oil is believed to have anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and cellular regeneration properties, making it useful for relieving scalp conditions such as dandruff and eczema. Also rich in essential fatty acids, Mamey Sapote Oil can help prevent hair damage from free-radicals, improve shine and elasticity in hair (leading to less breakage), and help keep hair hydrated longer.

Due to the anti-inflammatory nature of the fatty acid content, Sapote Oil is believed to be beneficial for people suffering from psoriasis, eczema, acne, and other skin conditions. It helps reduce skin flaking and patches, and the vitamins A, B, C, and E are amazing antioxidants and nutrients that support and aid in scalp health and hair growth. Clinical tests have also confirmed that this oil is effective in controlling hair loss caused by seborrheic dermatitis.
