Oakmoss Absolute is said to convey the aroma of a
faerie wood - an apt phrase to describe the enigmatic combination of moss, wood, decaying leaf, fungus, lichen, and damp earth notes that lend body, naturalness and excellent fixative value to almost all types of base note accords in perfumery.
Oakmoss Absolute is primarily used in high-class perfumery to add deep, earthy tones to a fragrance or product. This absolute blends extremely well with other floral essential oils such as Rose and Jasmine as well as citrus fruit oils like Bergamot and much more. Evernia prunastri Absolute forms the basis for the chypre fragrance family and is also popular in oriental blends.
Oakmoss Absolute Oil is also often used to promote overall skin health, especially in the healing of scars or minor topical injuries. Oakmoss Oil is cooling and so welcome when dealing with hot, inflamed swelling. It also helps soothe unwanted muscle spasms. Emotionally and energetically, Evernia prunastri Absolute uplifts and calms. It can help heal emotional trauma and is often used to help positively release repressed anger and deal with rage productively.
