In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic situation, our supply chain has hugely been affected and we had to reduce our stocks of some of our products (particularly hydrosols and body butters). We will be back in stock with most of our products once things start getting back to normal. Apart from this, almost all of the essential oils, carrier oils and absolutes are in stock with us. We request your patience and understanding during these difficult times.

Our organically crafted Pennyroyal Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaves and flowering tops of the Mentha pulegium flowering plant in the Lamiaceae family, or mint family, native to Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Pennyroyal Oil contains many components, but primarily contains the Isomenthone, Neomenthone, Menthone and Pulegone. An American species, Hedeoma pulegioides, is closely related and is also used to produce oil, as well as Micromeria fruticosa from Turkey.

Also called Pennyrile, Squaw Mint, Mosquito Plant and Pudding Grass, Pennyroyal Oil has a strong fragrance similar to Spearmint and was used for centuries to flavor food, wine and herbal teas. Pennyroyal Oil was also used as a traditional herb and folk remedy as an insect repellent and an abortifacient. Pennyroyal Oil blends well with Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus), Geranium Pelargonium graveolens), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), and Sage (Salvia officinalis).
