Chenopodium quinoa has been cultivated in the Andean region as a state food for thousands of years. It is a pseudo-grain, meaning it resembles a grain in usage, but does not belong to the grain family. Over the past few decades, Quinoa has attracted a global growing interest thanks to its wide adaptation to various climatic and soil conditions, rusticity and resilience, and its energy and protein-rich, gluten-free seeds. Quinoa is often called a
superfood for its remarkable nutrient properties, including all 9 amino acids essential for proper nutrition.
Used cosmetically, Quinoa Oil enhances the appearance and texture of skin and hair with its rich fatty acid and antioxidant content, easily hydrating, conditioning, and softening both without leaving a greasy residue. On acne-prone skin, Quinoa Oil can help soothe inflammation and irritation while reducing the appearance of scarring and balancing skin's natural moisture and oil production. With antimicrobial properties and nutrients that prevent skin from further aggravation, Quinoa Oil can heal skin that is cracked, sore, infected, scarred, blemished, and even burned. By balancing skin's pH and melanin levels, it helps protect against the sun's UV radiation and other environmental stressors.
In haircare, the conditioning properties of Quinoa Oil help moisturize dry, frizzy, damaged, and brittle hair without leaving hair smelling unpleasant or feeling heavy and greasy. By eliminating dandruff, it strengthens hair and reduces hair loss, enhancing the growth of healthier and possibly longer hair.
